The Challenge
CNICA is not a law firm; it is an institution. The website needed to reflect institutional authority, not the personality-driven branding typical of law practices. The design had to communicate the gravitas of a government-listed arbitration centre while also being functionally useful for multiple user types: parties seeking arbitration services, lawyers referring cases, arbitrators and mediators joining the panel, and members accessing rules, forms, and calculators. Beyond design, the website needed to be a working platform with interactive tools: fee calculators for domestic and international arbitration and mediation, membership registration with payment processing, and arbitration hall booking.
What We Did
Corporate-Standard Institutional Design
The CNICA website uses a design language appropriate for a government-listed institution: clean, authoritative, and professional. The colour palette, typography, and layout convey institutional seriousness without the stuffiness of government websites. The homepage hero features the Lady Justice figure, immediately establishing the legal context, with the tagline "Resolving conflicts with fairness and expertise."
Arbitration Fee Calculators
One of the most functionally significant features is the set of four fee calculators: Domestic Mediation Fees Calculator Domestic Arbitration Fees Calculator International Mediation Fee Calculator International Arbitration Fees Calculator
These tools allow parties and their lawyers to estimate arbitration and mediation costs before initiating proceedings, which is a critical decision factor in whether to pursue ADR. This is not a content page; it is an interactive tool built into the website.
Membership Registration and Payment Gateway
The website includes a full membership registration system with payment gateway integration. Members can register, pay membership fees, and join CNICA's panels. The membership section includes an Advantages page explaining benefits, a registration form, a searchable Membership List, and separate panel directories for Mediators, Arbitrators, and Emergency Arbitrators.
Venue Booking System
The "Book an Arbitration Hall" feature links to a venue booking system (venue.cnica.org) where parties can reserve arbitration halls for their proceedings. This transforms the website from informational to transactional.
ADR Services Section
The ADR Services section is comprehensively organised: Venue Charges information, Workshop registration, Hall Booking, and the four Fee Calculators. Each is a functional tool rather than just an informational page.
The Results
The engagement delivered measurable improvements across key performance indicators, establishing a foundation for sustained growth.
